Povoas Packaging Limited was established in 1954 by Mr Reginald Povoas, our company manufactured and supplied boxes and cartons to the hosiery industry in, Leicester, Nottingham and Derby.
After trading successfully for nearly two decades, the then Managing Director Mr John Povoas had the vision to introduce our first polythene extruder and bag converter. Overnight the hosiery trade gladly accepted polythene and demand for cartons ceased, it was not long before a second and third extruder and bag machine was introduced. Through further investment, a new generation of superior films were made available, Povoas Packaging Limited were one of the only companies in the U.K to manufacture pure Linear Low Density Polythene.
In March 2000, our third generation Director, Mr Simon Povoas instigated our ‘new purpose built factory’ in Desborough, Northamptonshire.
We are continually introducing new and improved products to the industrial marketplace, our latest addition to the extrusion family is ‘Metallocene’, this High Clarity, High Impact film, has already shown considerable cost savings to a variety of end users. In October 2002 a wide width extrusion line was built, this has extended our product range dramatically.
